Health Promotion Initiatives for Xstrata

and Gemini Medical is working hard to assist its clients to contend this issue. Gemini staff understand the importance of creating a healthy lifestyle and how its implementation directly correlates to a more efficient workplace and higher performance while at work. With this in mind, Gemini recognised the opportunity to establish a pilot program in partnership with Xstrata to improve the health of the its workforce and the Mt Isa community through the proactive provision of medical and health promotion services.

Passport to a Healthier You Program

By developing a highly detailed personalised 12 week program built on existing health promotion evidence, Gemini and Xstrata created a workplace health promotion initiative that would not only improve the health and wellbeing of its participants, but would also improve work performance. It combines the key features of workplace health promotion and General Practice interventions to assist staff to make healthier choices via a 'health passport'. This ongoing program has already seen great results and will continue to make an impact on the lives of its participants.
