Travel Medicine
Gemini provides a comprehensive service to organisations with employees working overseas. Whether the employee is living in a developing country or travelling on business, we can assist with the medical management of the expatriate worker.
Any of the following services can be provided:
Pre-assignment medical assessments
This assessment focuses not only on the employee’s physical competence to perform the job but also on their ability to manage any ongoing health issues that could place them (and the company) at risk while away.
Vaccinations & preventative medicine
Gemini has access to the most up-to-date advice on vaccination requirements, malaria prophylaxis and other global health issues such as sexually transmitted diseases. We provide vaccinations and preventative medications and issue an International Certificate of Vaccination. Gemini is authorised to administer the Yellow Fever Vaccine, a legal requirement for entry into many countries in Africa and South America. First aid kits can also be provided.
Regular reviews on return to work
Frequent travellers are encouraged to have an annual check-up. Those residing overseas are advised to have a check up when they return home on leave. This is important for those working in developing countries.
Assistance with injured or unwell employees
Being injured or ill overseas can be a frightening experience, especially if there is a language barrier. Our occupational health nurses can assist with the exchange of information between the company, medical provider and sick or injured employee. We can co-ordinate prompt medical management through our network of international medical providers then provide follow-up medical management on the employee’s return to Perth.
Call us to discuss your requirements and we’ll give you a plan and quote to suit your particular needs.
Cancellation Policy
Gemini Medical runs at full capacity for appoinments. Hence anyone who does not attend an appoinment not only inconveniences the staff, but also stops someone else from being able to receive our services.
In recent times, the number of companies 'pre-booking' times and then not having any one utilise those appoinments has been incresing. Consequently Gemini Medical has had to implement a Cancellation Policy.
Non-attendance Policy
As of March 1st 2007, any candidate who fails to attend will incur a $50 fee. This will be invoiced to their employer.
