Clinical Supervisor / Co-Contracts Representative
Gemini Medical is currently seeking a permanent Clinical Supervisor / Contracts Representative to coordinate nursing staff and ensuring the highest quality of services relating to:
- Proactive injury prevention
- Injury recovery programs
- Health Surveillance and
- Health Promotion
in the central Queensland town of Mount Isa.

The City of Mount Isa , located 1829 kms from Brisbane and 883 kms from Townsville is the second largest geographical city in Australia, covering over 43 300 square kilometers. With a land so large, you will find everything that you could need! From outdoor adventures including 4 wheel driving; BMX facilities; water sports, bird watching and recreation on Lake Moondarra. The annual world-renowned Mount Isa Rodeo and Mardi Gra and the historical ‘Underground hospital’ to all of your creature comforts including the cinema; local theatre group and major retail chains such as K-Mart, Coles, Harvey Norman and Woolworths. With an average of 9.5 hours of sunshine a day, and an average of just 50 wet days per year – your adventure activities are likely to be sun filled and rarely be marred by the weather! The town of approximately 20,000 people is largely based around the mining capabilities of the area, with one of the largest copper mines in Australia.
Aside from the adventures and sensational weather, as Clinical Coordinator / Contracts Representative you will work closely and collaboratively within the health, medical and rehabilitation service areas, reporting to the Gemini Area Manager. The position is responsible for the provision of an efficient and effective nursing / occupational health and health promotion service to external contractors, and all clients/patients of Gemini Medical Clinic and the management of Gemini Medical Clinic. This includes quality service provision for Clients, as well as the promotion and management of a positive work environment for staff, in accordance with the standards required by the Company.
The role
- Your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a Co-Contract Representative to Corporate Clients including Xstrata Copper and Ernest Henry Mining
- Ensure all administrative requirements are kept up to date through implementing systems which support the smooth running of the clinic
- Cost management of the clinic
- General nursing duties as required by the clinic
- Health Promotion Co ordination / delivery
- Training & Competency delivery / assessment
- Assistance in the delivery of Occupational health services
- Personnel Administration including encouragement of staff to maintain best practice in all aspects of their work whilst employed with Gemini Medical Services
- Instructing staff in the use of clinical computer software, communication systems and other office equipment as required
- Coordinating nursing staff with the provision of rosters; timesheets and leave entitlements
- Selection Criteria
- Current Registration with the Nurses Board of QLD as a Registered Nurse
- Effective communication / reporting capabilities to all levels of management
- Drive indicatives for ongoing development of Occupational Health and Health Promotion Practices
- Demonstrated strong initiative and a desire to succeed
- Knowledge of policies and procedures within the medical environment
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Capable of managing time and able to set priorities for multiple tasks
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Professional work ethic and behavior
- Previous experience / knowledge of the mining industry, occupational health and travel medicine is highly desirable
- Approved Mine Workers Surveillance Certificate and Audiometry Officer Certificate is highly desirable
